Another Sun Valley Day Trip
Sun Valley Jose Mier has been writing recently about day trips from Sun Valley and we’re far from done. Southern California is filled with tourist destinations and so many different types of scenery from desert to mountains to ocean that it would take quite some time to exhaust all the possibilities. Until we do here is our latest suggestion: If you’re visiting us in Sun Valley, or if you live here, one of our favorite day trips is to Laguna Beach.
Laguna Beach is famous for beautiful views and an artist colony– indeed the Pageant of the Masters art festival takes place here each year–in addition to sun-baked beaches and a laid-back atmosphere. Laguna Beach gained fame in the late 19th century and early 20th century because the views and the sunlight attracted artists to this area of California as well as the nascent motion picture industry. Several silent films took place in Laguna Beach.
Once you visit you’ll know why it’s a favorite destination for so many and how it’s so easy to get to from Sun Valley. We say time and again that we in Sun Valley are lucky to be situated so close to so many freeways. Indeed, the jaunt down to Laguna Beach takes just over an hour and it’s as easy as hopping on Interstate 5 south and taking that to state route 133. Getting lost is not an option because 133 actually ends at the city of Laguna Beach.
This town is such a famous destination there are many websites dedicated to things to do in Laguna Beach including visitlagunaneach.com, the city’s own website, and of course sites like tripadvisor. No matter what time of year you’re visiting Sun Valley a trip to Laguna Beach is a great idea. Even the winter temperatures are mild at this seaside resort town and the views remain spectacular throughout the year.
We at Sun Valley Jose Mier highly recommend this day trip. Our location and proximity to so many beautiful views is just one more reason Sun Valley is a great place to live or visit in Southern California.
